Advocating for Our Community
Why a Phone Call?
We must gain the support of elected and appointed leaders in order to achieve our goal of clean air for P.S. 372.
Phone calls are the quickest and most effective way to bring an issue to the top of our leaders’ priorities. That’s because staff members log and tally every call as a way of gauging public opinion. The more we call about an issue, the louder our message.
Calling shows that we care. A live call takes up staffers’ time and is harder to ignore than an email.
Call every day. Keep it short. Don’t overthink it!
Step-by-Step Advocacy
1
Who Should We Call?
Governor Kathy Hochul
518-474-8390 or 212-681-4580
Governor Hochul oversees New York State’s Departments of Health and Environmental Conservation, the agencies that have been in charge of addressing the toxic soil vapors at P.S. 372.
She has the power to enforce the state mandate to restore sites to "pre-disposal conditions, to the extent feasible."

My name is ____. I live at _____. My daughter/son attends PS 372 in Brooklyn, where she/he is exposed to toxic chemicals, including known cancer-causing and neurodegenerative agents, in indoor air each and every day.
I am furious that my child is exposed to toxic problems that were reported nearly 2 1/2 years ago. This is outrageous and unacceptable.
I demand that you immediately make PS 372 free of all toxic chemicals by remediating known toxic contamination sources under and around the school. I urge you to enforce the New York State mandate to restore toxic sites to "pre-disposal conditions, to the extent feasible."
The air in the school also should be purified using high-flow Granular Activated Carbon filtration systems to safeguard my child's health.
I demand immediate action without any further delay. If you cannot protect the children, faculty and staff of PS 372, you do not deserve to be Governor of New York State.
